How to block Twitter on Chrome

X (formerly known as Twitter) is a double-edged sword. It contains some of the most up-to-date information on global news. It’s a place where people make close friends. But it’s also a mind-killing social network that causes people to become fixated on problems they have no ability to solve. Instead of spending time with friends and family, people spend hours doomscrolling.

Without careful use, Twitter can take over your life and affect your relationships, your career and your happiness. One of the best ways to manage your use is by installing website and app blockers.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to block Twitter on Chrome.

Instructions

  • Download and install the Chrome extension Saved for Later.
  • Sign up for the 7-day free trial.
  • Make sure Saved for Later is 'on'.
  • Under 'Blocked sites', add twitter.com.

Saved for Later will now block Twitter by default. If you click on a link that would normally lead you to twitter, Saved for Later will hide the page and save the URL for you to refer to later.

If you realize you need to access Twitter, you can disable Saved for Later for a few minutes while you check whatever it is you need to check. Saved for Later will automatically re-block the website for you once you're done!
